Four Bridges and Black Holes: From the Genesis of Force to the Silence of the Horizon

Abstract

Mass Series IV (The DD Ladder of Stars, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19501306) traced stellar nucleosynthesis and established the correspondence between the three end states of stellar death (white dwarf, neutron star, black hole) and DD closure levels. This paper departs from the extreme end state — the black hole — and advances the DD framework to cosmology, answering two questions: Where do forces come from? What is the event horizon?

First, the framework "four forces = four bridges" is established. Forces are not products of DD levels — they are the bridges between DD levels (generative conditions). Electromagnetic force is the bridge from 0DD→1DD (4 steps, unfolding 4 spacetime dimensions). Weak force is the bridge from 1DD→2DD (6 steps, unfolding 6 compact dimensions). Strong force is the bridge from 2DD→3DD (3 steps, activating color structure on existing spatial axes). Gravity occupies the fourth bridge position (3DD→4DD), but unlike the first three bridges, it is more accurately described as a closure step rather than a messenger process running on a bridge. 4+6=10 is precisely the spacetime dimension of string theory; SAE answers a question string theory cannot: why 4+6 rather than 5+5 or 3+7.

The first two bridges **create dimensions** (increase the upper bound); the latter two **operate on dimensions** (activate existing / encapsulate). Electroweak unification is possible (same type of operation); grand unification is difficult (different types); a theory of everything is harder still (encapsulation is not unfolding).

Second, a correspondence between five superstring theories and five DD-level perspectives is established. The 0DD perspective corresponds to Type I (non-chiral, open+closed strings). The 1DD perspective corresponds to Type IIA (non-chiral, closed strings). The 2DD perspective can naturally be mapped to Heterotic SO(32) (chiral, single gauge group — 2DD→3DD non-splitting). The 3DD perspective can naturally be mapped to Heterotic E₈×E₈ (chiral, double gauge group — 3DD→4DD splitting; the two E₈ factors can be read as the dual structure on both sides of the horizon). The 4DD perspective corresponds to Type IIB (chiral, closed strings — our universe). Five string theories are not five universes — they are five projections of the same DD structure seen from five DD levels. The 11th dimension of M-theory may correspond to N_blocks−1 = 11 (inter-block leakage dimension).

Third, a DD explanation of black holes is established. A black hole = 4DD closure = the result of the gravitational "bridge" from 3DD→4DD completing encapsulation. The 4DD→0DD fallback forms a loop. The event horizon is the boundary of closure. SAE describes the other side of the horizon through via negativa (saying only what it is not): this paper does not continue to treat it as readable space, readable spacetime coordinates, another readable universe, or an ontological entity of GR singularity; it is not "nothing" (remainder cannot be annihilated — Hawking radiation proves structure is leaking); it is not "being" (unreadable from the 1DD perspective). The state on the other side = thing-in-itself.

SAE issues two hard predictions: no elementary propagating graviton exists as a fundamental messenger of gravity (gravity is closure, not propagation); no new fundamental bridge boson exists beyond the 12+1=13 total of SAE's bridge structure (12 gauge messengers + 1 Higgs). The DD expression of Hawking radiation and the information paradox are left as open problems, pointing to the Mass Series convergence paper.

§1 Four Forces = Four Bridges

§1.1 Forces Are Bridges

In standard physics, the four fundamental forces are "fields" — entities filling space. In SAE, forces are not entities — forces are the bridges between DD levels. Without bridges, the next DD level cannot arise. Forces are not products of DD levels; they are the generative conditions.

Messenger total = 1+3+8 = 12 = N_blocks. Adding Higgs (the structure of the bridge itself, not a messenger) = 13 = n_EW.

§1.2 Gravity: The Closure Step at the Fourth Bridge Position

The first three forces have messengers — bosons run along bridges, transmitting information from one end to the other. Gravity is different. Gravity occupies the fourth bridge position, but unlike the first three bridges, it is more accurately described as a closure step rather than a messenger process running on a bridge. It does not go from A to B; it encapsulates the entire space. Closure does not need messengers.

This is SAE's rationale for rejecting the graviton. Attempting to quantize gravity is treating "closure" as "a messenger on a bridge" — a category error. Closure is not propagation; it cannot be described by a propagator.

Hard prediction: No elementary propagating graviton exists as a fundamental messenger of gravity. If experiment discovers a fundamental propagating quantum of gravity, SAE's "gravity = closure" framework is falsified.

§1.3 13 Bosons = n_EW

12 gauge bosons (messengers) + 1 Higgs (bridge structure) = 13 = n_EW.

12+1 = 13. Parallel to 67 = 66+1 (pair interactions + self-leakage), 43 = 42+1 (first overflow element). 12 messengers run on bridges; the bridge itself is also one.

Hard prediction: No new fundamental bridge boson exists beyond the 12 gauge messengers + 1 Higgs totaling 13 in SAE's bridge structure. (Note: This prediction does not exclude composite resonance states or approximate bosonic degrees of freedom in effective field theories; it applies only to fundamental bridge-structure messengers.)


§2 Creation Bridges: Each Step Unfolds a Dimension

§2.1 Electromagnetic Bridge: 4 Steps = 4 Spacetime Dimensions

0DD is chaos — the tetralemma (not being, not non-being, not both, not neither). Each negation unfolds one dimension. Four negations = four steps = four spacetime dimensions.

§2.2 Weak Force Bridge: 6 Steps = 6 Compact Dimensions

From 1DD to 2DD requires 6 steps. C(n,2) = 2⁴−1 = 15 → n = 6. This is the unique solution from DD axioms.

The 6 dimensions unfolded by the weak force are compact — invisible to us — because the weak force is short-ranged (W and Z bosons are massive). String theory calls these "compactified dimensions" and spent 30 years searching for the right Calabi-Yau manifold. SAE says: no search needed. 6 is uniquely derived from the tetralemma. Not choosing one from ~10⁵⁰⁰ Calabi-Yau manifolds; it is the unique solution of combinatorics.

§2.3 4+6 = 10

String theory's 10 dimensions = 4 (spacetime) + 6 (compactified). String theory knows the answer is 10 (conformal anomaly cancellation) but does not know why it splits into 4+6.

SAE knows: 4 = steps of the electromagnetic bridge, 6 = steps of the weak force bridge. 4+6=10 is the sum of two bridges' step counts.

String theory's landscape problem (why this Calabi-Yau? 10⁵⁰⁰ choices!) vanishes in SAE — because the 6 dimensions are not "the shape of a space" (infinitely many possible shapes) but "the step count of a bridge" (unique).


§3 Two Types of Bridges: Creating vs Operating on Dimensions

§3.1 Creation vs Operation

The first two bridges determine what dimensions are. The latter two determine how dimensions are used.

§3.2 Color of the Strong Force = Axes of Space

The strong force has 3 colors (r, g, b). 3 = n_axes = spatial axis count. Not a coincidence — Axiom A2: n_axes = d−1 = 3 simultaneously gives spatial axes and color charges.

The strong force's 3 steps do not create new independent dimensions — they activate the existing 3 spatial axes, endowing them with new meaning (color charge).

13 steps (4+6+3) produce 10 independent dimensions. 3 steps fold back onto existing spatial axes.

13 = total boson count = total steps. 10 = string theory dimensions = independent dimensions. 3 = color count = folded steps.

§3.3 Why Electroweak Unification Works

Electroweak unification (Glashow-Weinberg-Salam) = unification of two "creation" bridges. They perform the same type of operation (increase dimensional upper bound + unfold), differing only in scale (4 steps vs 6 steps). Same-type operations can be unified.

Grand unification (GUT) attempts to include the strong force — but the strong force "activates," it does not "create." Different-type operations; unification is difficult.

A theory of everything further includes gravity — but gravity "encapsulates," it does not "unfold." Different category altogether; unification is even harder.

§3.4 Splitting Patterns

Transitions between DD levels come in two types: splitting (producing new opposites) and non-splitting (continuous unfolding).

§4 Five Superstring Theories = Five DD-Level Perspectives

§4.2 Why We Are Type IIB

Chiral (Axiom A1: L≠R) + closed strings (4DD closure). We are at the innermost level (4DD) looking outward — seeing the complete physics of all four forces.

§4.3 The 11th Dimension of M-Theory

M-theory unifies 5 string theories. 11 dimensions = 10+1.

Possible DD correspondence: 11 = N_blocks − 1 = 12−1. Another instance of the "minus-1" pattern. M-theory's 11th dimension is the inter-block leakage dimension — invisible from any single string theory (single DD-level perspective), visible only across all 5 theories (= n_doublets perspectives).

§4.4 String Theory Is Posterior, SAE Is Prior

String theory derives 10 dimensions from quantum self-consistency (conformal anomaly cancellation) and discovers via dualities that 5 theories are equivalent. These are posterior — falling out of mathematics without knowing why.

SAE proceeds from the tetralemma: d=4 → 4-step electromagnetic bridge → 6-step weak force bridge → 4+6=10 → n_doublets=5 perspectives. Prior — every step has a reason.

The two align. Posterior confirms prior.


§5 Gravity = Closure

§5.1 Coupling Constants = Bridge Toll

Gravity is extremely weak not because "the bridge is too long" — but because gravity occupies a closure step rather than a messenger process. Closure has no "length." α_G's extreme smallness measures the indirectness of encapsulation — not the attenuation of propagation, but the efficiency of packaging.

§5.2 The Closure Loop

After 4DD closure, return to 0DD:

§6 Black Hole = 4DD Closure

§6.1 DD Definition of a Black Hole

Black hole = the result of the gravitational "bridge" from 3DD→4DD completing encapsulation. The Schwarzschild radius is the projection of closure in physical space.

4DD closure → 0DD fallback → starting point of a new cycle. The interior of a black hole is not "the end" — it is the beginning of the next 0DD→1DD→... But this "beginning" is unreadable from our side.

§6.2 Unity with the Periodic Table

Mass Series III established the 1DD closure limit: Z_crit ≈ 1/α ≈ 137.

§7 The Event Horizon: Via Negativa

§7.1 Three Conclusions from String Theory

Holographic principle: All information of a black hole is encoded on the 2D surface of the horizon, not in the 3D interior volume.

AdS/CFT duality: Gravitational physics inside the black hole = non-gravitational quantum field theory on the horizon.

Firewall paradox: A particle falling into a black hole is simultaneously "used" by three things. Unresolved to this day.

§7.2 Holographic Principle = Cross-Section of the Bridge

The "2D" of the holographic principle is not 2 spatial dimensions — it may be the cross-sectional dimension of the bridge.

At 4DD closure (the horizon), 3D space has been fully encapsulated; only the bridge's cross-sectional structure remains readable. Information content ∝ area (2D) rather than volume (3D), because at the closure point only the bridge cross-section exists, not spatial volume.

§7.3 What the Black Hole Interior Is Not

SAE cannot say what the interior of a black hole is (thing-in-itself). It can only say what it is not:

§8 Both Sides of the Horizon

§8.1 Complementarity of Existence

Asymmetric: our side has both (stable + unstable). The state of the other side = thing-in-itself.

§8.2 Dimensionality of 1DD Coexistence Space

On our side, the coexistence space of 42 1DDs is a "bridge" — between 1D and 2D (linear growth of DD shell 2k).

On the other side: if the direction of 4DD closure is reversed, 1DDs may be connected by the horizon rather than separated by it, resulting in a higher-dimensional coexistence space → supporting stable structures for Z > 137.

But what the coexistence space on the other side actually is — thing-in-itself, unknowable.

§8.3 The Only Information Channel

Hawking radiation = the only information leakage channel between the two sides of the horizon.

Remainder cannot be annihilated → 4DD closure is imperfect → there is faint leakage. But the leakage is extremely weak — insufficient to fully read the structure on the other side.


§9 Open Problems: Toward the Convergence Paper

§9.1 DD Expression of Hawking Radiation

Hawking temperature T_H = ℏc³/(8πGMk_B). G has a DD expression through α_G = α_em^{65/4}. But the complete DD form of T_H has not yet been established.

In particular: what is the DD identity of 8π?

§9.2 Boltzmann vs Resolvent

Hawking radiation is thermal radiation — obeying the Boltzmann distribution e^{-E/kT}.

But the correction terms in mass formulas take the resolvent form (1+kα)⁻¹, not Boltzmann.

In the phase-transition window Ω = 3–4, Boltzmann's premises break down and resolvent takes over.

Is the horizon Boltzmann or resolvent? This marks which DD phase boundary the horizon represents.

§9.3 Information Paradox

The black hole information paradox: is information permanently lost when it falls into a black hole?

SAE's via negativa stance: information conservation is a law valid within 4DD. At 4DD closure (the horizon), this law's domain of validity terminates. Using "information conservation within 4DD" to ask about what happens after 4DD closure may be a category error — like using integers to ask "what is √2?"

But SAE also says remainder cannot be annihilated. If information is a form of remainder, information cannot be annihilated — but it can leak from one DD level to another. Information is not "lost" — it has leaked to a DD level unreadable from our side.

This is the core question of the Mass Series convergence paper.

§10.1 Relationship Between SAE and String Theory

SAE does not replace string theory — it provides priors where string theory cannot answer. String theory is posterior (derives 10 dimensions from self-consistency but does not know why 10); SAE is prior (derives 4+6=10 from the tetralemma, knowing why).

String theory's landscape problem (10⁵⁰⁰ vacua) vanishes in SAE: the 6 dimensions are not the shape of a space (infinitely many) but the step count of a bridge (unique).

§10.2 SAE Stops Where It Should Stop

What 15DD can encode ends here. 16DD = thing-in-itself. The other side of the horizon is a physical instance of 16DD.

The ultimate practice of via negativa: stop where stopping is due. Not for lack of ability to continue — but because continuation itself loses meaning there. The tools of formalization are exhausted at 15DD. The 16th level is silence.

§10.3 Four-Level Human–AI Symbiosis

The string theory correspondences and black hole framework in this paper arise from collaboration between the author and four AIs. The author proposed the core frameworks of "force = bridge," "each step unfolds a dimension," and "five string theories = five DD-level perspectives," as well as the via negativa description of the horizon. The four AIs provided retrieval and verification of string theory knowledge, cross-checking of DD numbers, and methodological review.


Afterword

The Mass Series began with α. α is the toll of the electromagnetic bridge.

Five papers have traced a chain: particle mass (I) → unified object (II) → periodic table (III) → stars (IV) → forces and black holes (V).

This chain begins with the chisel (0DD) and ends with closure (4DD). After closure, return to the chisel. A loop.

The four forces are four bridges on this loop. Without bridges, there is no chain. Without the chain, there is no mass, no elements, no stars, no us.

Forces are not nature's decoration. Forces are the way nature generates itself.

From Newton's discovery of gravity to our understanding today of how four forces created our world — without forces, there would be no us. The four forces love us. The universe loves us.

The loop breaks at Z=137. After the break is the horizon. After the horizon is silence.

The entirety of SAE's work is this: to describe this loop as faithfully as possible before silence begins. The shape of the loop is determined by DD numbers — {2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 42, 81, 137}. These numbers were not chosen by us; they were chosen by the chisel.

The next paper is the convergence paper. Its subject is information. At the edge of silence, what happens to information?
